My dealership is somewhat on the incompetent side.

You are right. That should not happen. In all the dealership I have went to. There is only one guy know everything about new car and he is in the service area. I don't know what his boss is thinking.

The sales reps be like, "I'm just here to sell a car man. I see you have a 2015 FR-S. Are you interested in upgrading to this Toyota Camry Limited Edition V6?"

Exactly. I just leave my car at dealership for service. I required them to do a transmission fluid inspection and the rep said, 'how many miles you have? You don't have to change or check. I never do it on my car'. It took me 10 min to persuade her to add it on the list.

Probable in most regions based upon Subaru's official statements of "winter" production/shipping. Unless there are production delays and then who knows

You guys have to stop believing everything a sales guy will tell you. Their whole job is to build and maintain excitement for the purchase even if it stretch's the truth a bit.

Didn't know SOA Customer Care employed sales guys....

Everyone is a sales guy. Who hasn't tried to sell their spouse on something we know they do not need or want?

That's not really an argument against a December delivery. That can be true and a December delivery date can also be true.

I ordered a car with PP from the same dealership as jtaeric and when I spoke to him the other day, he said he hasn't received the vehicle list they will get for December, which he is expecting to receive soon.

Once he gets that list we'll know whether or not the car is going to arrive in December. He said that every time he's ordered a BRZ it's arrived in the next shipment. December would be the next shipment from jtaeric and I's order date.

Well you never said WHO told you. Doesn't matter anyway since Customer Care is indeed a section of the marketing division and therefore a sales person. Just about everybody you will ever talk to at a dealer or SOA is actually a sales person. Even that tech that changed your oil is working to upsell something. I am not slamming them for this since that is their job.

These are not exactly a normal order and the standard Subaru 2 moth turn around may not apply.
We shall see in a month. Or two. Or maybe three.
I am not trying to bring you guys down or be a pessimist but they were very clear that it was a late 2016 or early 2017 build and said so many times.

Not arguing. Voicing my opinion based upon the available data. I have no clue on what the CSR quota is for order retention as I have no data or information on which to base an opinion. You can ignore the clear statements Subaru made and go by whatever individual that tells you what you want to hear if you wish. I will stick to what I interpret the statements to be. One of us will be proven wrong in a month. If it is me I will humbly apologize.

rhetorical question, CSRs probably dont have a quota...

it's not a person at all. Operations plugged in an ETA in the computer based on whatever factors Operations uses. The CSR reads the letters that appear on the screen. it cant get any more objective than that.

If subaru's estimate is uncharacteristically wrong, then it is wrong. whether Subaru's estimate turns out to be accurate or not is anyone's guess.

saying we were lied to is really missing the point here and doesn't add any value to the disussion imo
