Just because it's the same pump doesn't mean the pump manufacturer didn't change the internals of the pump to negate the noise stated in the TSB. The pump manufacturer would have the answer to any changes internally.

Interesting you mention Costco. I've never had the Chirp, and used Costco's 91 octane -no ethanol blend in the past - along with other local brands here in Iowa. A couple weeks ago I noticed that the Costco in my area switched to a 93 octane ethanol blend - so I filled her up. When I pulled into the garage that day - I heard the Chirps for the first time. Next fill-up, I went back to 91 octane-no ethanol............and the chirp went away! I don't think its necessarily the ethanol, but something in that Costco 93 is causing chirps. |

Took my car in and they ordered the new part from the TSB. We will see Tuesday if it makes any difference or not

It's been a year and a half since I sold my FR-S and they now FINALLY have a fuel pump that fixes the chirping? Jerks.

Any updates from those that had this done?

Damn, was hoping the answer was here..... Guess no answer to our question. "Have they found a fix for the crickets yet?"

My dealer is waiting on the parts for this TSB. Will let you know how it goes -- Crickets have been coming out by force lately!
