Badge conversion legality

Rubbish lol 😂 so when an officer pulls you over he'll usually ask for a DL and insurance registration, than he goes to the computer pull up your insurance than try to match it with your DL, once confirm he'll check your car model than maybe even search how a stock model would look. Once that's done, he'll hand you a slip asking for your signature, and that's when you know you CANT TALK YOUR WAY OUT of it. 👀

You just have to know what to say to them. Next time try this: Sorry officer, I didn't know I couldn't do that.
Works every time.

Idk about Florida but here in California for me anyways there won't really be a point once they've already wrote the whole detail slip and hand it to you lol. What I say is..CYA IN COURT

That's the thing, I did know I couldn't do that....

Well for me I'm rebadging to Toyota badges the rear badge & trunk one because the cost is cheaper than getting the Scion one's. My trunk lid got keyed a few weekends ago. Auto Paint shop estimate shows Scion badges for $85.00. I can get Toyota badges for $75.00. I'm paying out of pocket for repairs so saving
$10.00 is important to me. I'm a thrifty aging Asian!:lol:

florida is one of the states that cares the least when it comes to cars...don't require front plates, no inspections...it's great!

Try something different next time:

"Sorry officer, I was just trying to rush this trunk full of donuts to my hotel room full of hookers... now how can I help you?":party0030:

What makes no sense about this story is that the registration on my Scion FRS says it's a Toyota.....

There is no law anyplace (even California) that says you can't change badges. I have posted the Cali law many times but am too lazy to do it again. The car is individually identified by a VIN number not a model badge on the body. Now if he checks your VIN against your registration and plates and it doesn't match THEN he can hand you the ticket.

They all do. Or at least nobody ever has spoken up otherwise.
