OpenFlash Headers in 2017 &a Tune -- success & no tune yet

Just want to inform the group that the headers fit perfectly on a 2017 model.

I've had it installed on the vehicle with 3km on the odometer!

As for the tune, the tablet states no tunes are available yet. So now I'm just chillin and waiting.

The CEL has come on, so hopefully it will be gone after the tune.

For those wondering, the headers are a fit for 2017!

I'm curious to see how the 2017 responds to headers and a tune.

Thanks for confirmation. I have all my bolt-ons (intake/header/mid-pipe/exhaust) from my 2013 FRS waiting to go on my 2017 BRZ. I figured the part fitment was all the same, but good to hear.

I'm also waiting for the OFT updated files. Anxious to do dyno comparisons between my 2 cars with the same upgrades.

Don't hold your breath.

1. Openflash are busy doing custom tunes on SBD kits, their priority is not NA tunes that they don't make money on.
2. Unless they are going to flash an MY14 roms to an MY17 cars, they are at the mercy of open source people providing them definitions of a rom with completely new logic, new table sizes and addresses.
3. You will need to wait for them to buy an MY17 development car.

Shiv now has definition for K 00C rom he is working on tune, the 2017 eu roms have changed a bit and have two timing and fueling maps and a bunch of other changes so might be a couple more days, unless they run ino other issues, the opensource guys ie tdd did the definition

Please explain how they don't make money on NA tunes.

Really all I need is the definition so I can go tune the car with my tuner. A base map from Shiv would be a nice head start though.

Are the new definitions available? The RomRaider site/forum is pretty cludgy and hard to find stuff.

:/ if it's true that it takes this long for a tuning solution. I may have to send my tablet back and ask for a refund then.

I hope I get a reply tomorrow. This check engine light is driving me crazy.

Edit: looks like Shiv is working on a file!

OP - Thanks for doing this. Hopefully, OFT gets on this soon as ECUtek is only a couple weeks away from having reflashes available for 2017 MT cars....

Def is alpha version , they probably will want to check test it before release.

OFT's primary business model relies on the tablet, custom tunes and peripheral sales. If a new rom tune is added to the OTS tune file, this makes reelatively no money for OFT. Note - the OP has already got an OFT and peripherals.

Looking a little more strategically, if the new tune happens to be for a brand new model/series, then OFT may increase their market share - aka sell more tablets.

On the other hand, expanding the capability coupled with additional peripherals (e.g. ff and fi solutions) will make more money (particularly given the maturity of the platform). 90% of people who are going to buy an OFT have already bought, but 30+% of those might now be ready for an upgrade. OFT becomes an alternative (e.g. to Ecutek) in more sophisticated applications.

I sent him the K00C ROM, and the flash killed my car which needed to be reset by jumping the pins. I'd wait a bit on this one, as there are an issue or two to be addressed.

Edit: The security system disabled the engine for no apparent reason, no brick.

Carista and an OBD dongle, problem solved.
