Scratched paint in trunk
Hey guys, lurker here. I'll have more questions down the road as I work on the car more, however, I do have a question regarding scratched paint in my trunk.
I finally got my metal tags today and I was trying to install them on my car when I had trouble removing the screws that were used to keep in the dealer plates. Long story short the dealership put on THICK brass self tapping screws to hold in the rear plates. As a result, they got stuck in the screw holders inside the trunk and everytime I rotated the screw, the holders would rotate along with them. In order to take said screws out, I had to pop open the trunk and hold the white screw holders still with a set of pliers with one hand while unscrewing the screws with the other. (I ended up having to go to a different Scion dealership to get a different set of screws that were much better suited for the job).
Anyhow, long story short, the metal tags are finally on (and I'll be damned if I have to take them off any time soon), but in the process there are a few gouges in the paint inside the trunk near said screw bases. I'm super paranoid about rust happening ANYWHERE on this car. Seeing as how the scratched paint is inside the trunk, would it be safe to leave it as is, or should I definitely go ahead and get some touch up paint ASAP?
