P0455 EVAP Code after New Direct and Port Injectors Installed? (Vortech Supercharger)

.

Did anyone experience a P0455 EVAP code with supercharger installed?
I recently changed direct injectors and port injectors.

History

2015

I installed the Vortech Supercharger last year at EFI Logics.

2016/06

Three months ago I got Code P1072, P117B and P1170, meaning that the car run rich. EFI logics checked the tune for me and erase the code. But they told me that it was a temporary solution, the car could not go over 6000rpm. Either the injectors or fuel pump needed to be checked.I drove the car for a month and no CEL, but as EFI told me, it was a temporary solution.

2016/08

I then went to Motoeast in PA because it was closer my home and they have a good reputation on this forum.

Mike (tuner) checked the tune for me and told me that is was a problem related to tune. So he adjusted the tune for me.

2016/09

I drove home for a few days, and the same codes came back(P1072, P117B and P1170), so I went back to Motoeast. Mike checked the code again and made sure that the system is boost leak free, then he provide me the same suggestions that EFI Logics provided me: the injectors needed to be checked.

Motoeast checked the car for me, and told me that both direct injectors and port injectors needed to be changed.

2016/09

The injectors were changed, and I picked up the car last weekend.

Problem

The idle was rough, and the car even stalled a few time when the RPM was too low. Mike told me that these were normal because the car was learning the new tune.

I drove home and test drove for 100 miles with AC off. The idle was better after that(still up and down sometimes, but acceptable), but I got a code P0445 after two days.

BTW, I could smell the fuel.

I took the car back to Motoeast, and as they checked, there is no EVAP leak, and the car is 100% mechanical problem free.

Mike is really helpful and responsible. He told me that he will take some further examination on the car and adjust the tune to see whether the EVAP code is related to the tune or not.

It is a really strange issue: CEL on with EVAP code, but there is no leak.

Did anyone experience such an issue before?

Is there any possible cause if the EVAP is leak-free?

I've battled the P0451 code since day one with a Moto east tune. Doesn't really bother me as I can reset it easily. Haven't found a leak anywhere. I'm convinced it's tune related, but you never really know without paying for a tune from another vendor.

Plan on taking the car for a dyno tune when I have a couple of free days.

Thank you.

It seems like the P0451 is similar to P0455.

When you said reset, did you mean that disconnecting battery and idle relearn? The CEL will off for a few days then it will come back after the ECU relearned.

I use ecutek to reset it. Sometimes it comes back in two or three days. Depends on the number of times the ecu sees the fault I think. Usually on the 3rd start up.

Do you have flex fuel kit using evap input ?

any chance the tune is set up to look for flex input for evap even though you not using flex fuel ?.

I see. Yeah thats similar to the idle relearn, just reflash the ECU. The code will come back.

No I dont have flex fuel kit.

I will check with the tuner for this possibility.

Thank you!

If you can smell fuel and your getting that code the evap purge solenoid or wiring may be stuffed or damaged

You say it smells fuel and that injectors were changed. Is it possible that its the seals? Im no mechanic but from past experiences from people in my area, the injector seals are very delicate and super easy to break on installation / change. It will smell fuel and will the engine will be rough but I dont quite remember the codes they were having. Just throwing this out there.
