I'm looking to do this install soon. I wanted to confirm the part numbers. I am hoping to swap the MY13 for the MY17+ BRZ bumper, and I want to run OLM DRL's and OLM fog lights. Is the part number everyone keeps quoting for the fog lights bracket the one that has a hole for the fog lights, and does anyone know if the old fog lights fit on the new bumper? If not then should I buy the MY17+ OLM fog lights, which will have the correct bracket, and if I do then is the plug still the same? Will the vertical OLM DRL's work with the old DRLs like will the plugs work, and if not, could wires be easily spliced to make them work like a line in and a line out; I haven't checked out the one's on my car yet.

I think I decided to not do the fog lights instead of having dark fog lights. I really never use them and doubt I will need them ever, plus it will look cleaner without them.

I'm curious if anyone bought the hardware too like the bolts, or if they just swapped it all over? Also, online prices look better, but the shipping on like subarupartsdepot was like $650, so yea, passing on that. Anything closer to Northern California worth trying?

I bought alot of hardware new but Nah, things like bolts and nuts you can reuse

the stuff I bought knew where the black clips and pop rivet things.. Nothing beats the snap of a newly acquired OE clip.

the only way to get a cheaper swap is to find a bumper already in your color with all the grill piece and whatnot.

all in all my swap ended up costing me around 1100 bucks.

Blue brz bumper, sanded down and painted white ( i also had a trunk painted to match) then all the hardware, new headlamps, re-pinning the headlight harness and then buying brz ts fog deletes

Great write-up. Did you have any thoughts about ditching the stache and doing a custom grille for the bigger opening without the stache? It's a separate piece on that bumper cover, correct?

It's the one thing I really dislike about my BRZ, and I plan to cut that bitch off some day and do a custom grille. My car is black, so the stache is somewhat camouflaged, and I've added the GrillCraft grille in black - I'd love to have your new bumper minus the stache and plus a custom stainless mesh grille with the licence plate centered. My car has a little too much black on the front end - needs a little bling.

You've got me thinking now.

Thanks.

Check out the grille I just made up during my fresh motor/turbo setup.... If you still on here and/or still have your BRZ that is [emoji28]stumbled upon my own post years later when looking for something else, so here I am reading all the comments n shit I ignored lololol.

Chicken wire from home Depot, black spray paint from home Depot, $20 mod. Works great, lots of air flow & keeps lil debris outta the pretty IC[IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200119/1425f38***6fe32ca5c6561f5b92b863.jpg[/IMG]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...118d70126f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...21281fc635.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...def6b54730.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a0e3218b9e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ffda967d43.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...eaa084d2c7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...529ddefc64.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...69b071e4d6.jpg

Chicken wire always looks cheap. I’ve done it myself back in the day. It ends up rusting and warping. When you are ready to upgrade to something there is this:

Maaco paint special?

There is so much variability between prices that there is no sense in comparing online. Labor costs in metro California versus rural Texas will be night and day different like the home prices. Then there is color matching equipment and techniques, quality of paint, sanding and prepping, number/layers of coats, and after polishing. A bumper can be painted from a legitimate business for $50 to $10,000 or more. It all depends on the quality.

As long as the holes are big enough. I love what I got going right now because from a distance you can't even see it lol. I used Rust-Oleum spray paint so I'm not worried about rust but I cut the piece too short and there's about a 1" strip on the passenger side that doesn't reach the end of the bumper so I'll prob end up redoing eventually anyways

Give it some time, and see if it holds up to rocks n debris.

Many high end cars use active grills like the BMW 7 series. One reason is to control cooling. The Supra has part of the front grill blocked off because with it open there was too much cooling says Tada-San. I see what looks like an oil cooler. I don’t know if your car is used for track use only, but some have problems with over-cooling their daily driver, especially in cool weather, and I can’t imagine Washington getting super hot. Just saying, maybe the hole size isn’t a huge concern, within reason of course.

Car has become 95% dedicated drift car, dailying right now while finishing up tuning / and to break in engine but I'm sure that's plenty good by now. After that she's only gonna see above about 45mph on the rare occasion it's a sunny/weekend/or 86meet day lol, otherwise she's going to live in the garage/trailer/open drift. Thing sucks to daily with a hydro and angle kit..... Along with everything else that makes it noisy and uncomfortable [emoji1787]

So anyways the point being that the more open the front is, the better off I am because there's not a lot of airflow below 45mph or sideways, I ended up putting a fan behind the IC as well to kinda help, next step will be ducting & to leave the grille alone unless it gets smashed into a tire wall or one of my buddies and NEEDS replaced [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Then that makes sense.
