How fast was he going and how stupid was he being to cause that much damage in a single vehicle accident on a surface street?

In skiing that would be called a "yard sale" where you crash so hard your clothes are strewn about the mountain.

In car parlance I guess it would be an "impromptu flea market", or as Elon Musk would call it a RUD (Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly) https://vine.co/v/OjqeYWWpVWK.

The car is not only broken into at least 3 major pieces that I can see (driver side, and passenger side front and separate back half of car), but the engine literally is completely out of the car. That saves time for the salvage people dismantling.

Its a convertible, so thats partly why there doesnt seem to be much there.

Thank goodness he walked away, it is a miracle. All the jarring necessary to create that carnage must have jostled the guy really good. Perhaps he walked away into a waiting ambulance. Mainly whatever sliced through the car both longitudinally and transversely managed to miss the driver.

I wonder if anyone here is in that part of WA and heard about this crazy accident.

BTW, I am pretty sure it will buff out with a bit of elbow grease.

Yep, watched a report on the local news.

It was reported that it was a rental car.

Estimates were that he was traveling in excess of 90 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, when he lost control and hit a light pole.

I can't hardly believe the dude walked away from that crash ......:eyebulge:

I'm about 15 miles away from that neighborhood, didn't even know this happened. Then again.. don't really pay attention to happenings around here that much.

Pretty crazy accident

Found a local station's reporting:

The very reason he survived is the fact the Stang got shreded. That's how F1 are designed.. Pretty lucky guy for sure though.

It looks more like a fly tipping case..

Near the end you can hear what sounds like a cop agreeing that it could be around 150mph :eyebulge:

I think it was a test run by Ford. They are tired of Mustangs only taking out small sections of crowds at meets so are developing a car with a larger kill radius. The shrapnel from that could have taken out half a block worth of bystanders.

Circa 150mph in a convertible Mustang??? Is it possible??

Just looked up "fly tipping" for those non-British folks out there. It refers to illegal curbside dumping. Example, dropping your rubbish at someone else's property.

Gotta love the Brits, except maybe Simon Cowell LOL They invented our language, then they partially reinvented it just for themselves this time. LOL
