t86rs rear suspension. stock but 2.6 degree neg camber???
 

Hi Guys,

So I am just wondering if oem parts could be mixed and matched to somehow add neg camber to the rear?

Many of the cars at the lower end of the field sit around 1.5 degree neg camber at minimum ride height.

some cars "that came like this from factory with all factory parts" have up to 2.8 degree neg.

any ideas on how this has been achieved. I have looked around and all i have found is upgraded bolts but they dont change anything.

I know rear camber is ride height dependent as well, but max I have seen is 1.7 neg at below min ride height.

Is this just a case of someone measuring hundreds of factory parts to find arms that are slightly longer, cradles that are slightly wider, and hubs that are slightly more offset and combining them? or am i missing something here?

Go jack your car up, then loosen every single bolt on the entire suspension assembly.

Then, tighten them all up and get it aligned.

Do that 100 times and you'll get different results every time.

Furthermore:
If you manage to do that while on the ground, you'll end up with more camber.

And "Crash bolts" up front should add another .8 camber.
Some may consider trd springs "oem"

Where are you finding someone that had -2.8* in the rear at stock height on all stock parts? That seems really unlikely, and is WAY outside the factory spec.

If it's been lowered, maybe. Unlikely a completely stock one to have that much camber.

Also, how much are you lowered? According to my records, with completely stock suspension on my MY13 I had -1.0*L/-1.4*R in the rear, no driver weight. After installing some swift lowering springs (-1.0" or 25mm) I had as much as -2.3* camber with all else stock.

It's a pain in the ass, but yeah, basically. Most notably on the front strut-to-knuckle bolts. But at that point, you may as well put in some camber/crash bolts.

The rear has enough camber, and some very aggressive geometry. I think the rear subframe bushing flex reduces your dynamic camber; rear subframe bushing inserts definitely improve rear grip.

they have coilovers, and a minimum ride height.
All other parts are supposed to be oem.

Sounds like this is rules related to a racing series? Its really not likely imo but you never really know.

It sounds like he's repeating a claim made by someone else in the series, probably by the team with the aforementioned mystery camber...
