2017 brz exhaust vs older exhaust

I picked up a 2017 BRZ a few days ago and want some louder sound. Does anybody know if there are any differences between the 2017's exhaust compared to the 2013-2016? I know someone selling their full 3 inch magnaflow exhaust with SLP Loudmouth resonator that was on their brz, I just want to make sure it will easily fit before I make the hour drive.

EDIT DEC 16: Several users have found that aftermarket pre 2017 exhausts do not fit due to different bolt hole spacing at the header flange. One user reworked the holes to fit.

Awesome, was hoping that's the case so I can just bolt on the pipes and muffler. Thanks!

I'd rather prefer light single one, then even bigger cans for "dual" exhaust.
If they had wanted more bling in refresh, center exhaust would fit the bill better too.

I don't think that's completely true.....the headers are different from what I understand.

That's correct. The exhaust manifold was revised. I can personally confirm that the hole spacing (at least for the front pipe HAS CHANGED by about at least a full 1/4". I installed a Borla cat back last weekend on my '17 and i had to enlarge one of the holes in a pear shape on the mating Borla flange, combine it with a washer for it to fit. Not a big deal for me, i was aware of the risk buying ahead of time

Who cares about header, owner will upgrade with aftermarket at the end.

Lots of people will care! Some may not upgrade at all, while others may want a cat back, but may not realize that there is in fact a difference - if they wanted to buy a used system from earlier model years.

Especially if manufacturer of some exhaust bits won't care of releasing revised versions of them (very probably), then it potentially may rise fitting issues for not just ones buying used.

This makes no sense. The rest is the same so why move two bolts 1/4 inch? People have had to rework pieces before even thigh made for the car. I will go on a quest for part numbers and see if they changed.

Well i know people still will (i'm one of them) but there will be people who decide not to go through the hassle.

Did you mean that the diameter of the front pipe has changed?
