I came out of Target to see this happened to my car!

I try to park away from everyone, but sometimes I catch people parking next to me to check out my car. Obviously someone doesn't know how to back out of a parking spot and the and took off leaving no info. My insurance company is calling it a collision and making me pay my deductible. I put so much work into this car. It has 1795 miles on it and usually left in the garage or only driven when I never have to leave it alone. I usually take the Camry, but it was being used at the time.

I hope my insurance rates don't get raised, because they are considering it a collision. It's bad enough they scraped up my bumper, but they also scratched my fender.

Someone, please feel my pain! I know there has to be less than 500 of these cars remaining.

That sucks man. if it was me I dont think i would have contacted insurance over that though. That would piss me off everyday just thinking about.

it might be a long shot, but you should go to Target and ask if they have any cameras pointing towards your car.

The police wouldn't even come out for something so minor.

I just replaced my rear bumper cover.
It was $800 replaced at the dealer.
Paint match was perfect but it took two tries.
Mine is GBS so also a fairly hard paint to get right.

My insurance copay is $250. That's why I choose to go through insurance. My premiums are $521.70 every 6 months. I'll still fight them over any rate increase & I'' going to try & get it turned to comprehensive. Rates are low because it's a low yearly mileage recreation vehicle only.

No cameras since it's Lake Zurich. That's like zero crime out here.

I have a Series.HyperBlue too and boy oh boy does this pain me.

surfwaxsmitty 09-17-2016 03:00 AM

There is hyper blue on someones car out there! find it! lol

So sorry man! i feel you pain.

But also, this is why I think many people here didnt buy somthing like a porsche or bmw, there is still some sanity available when an unexpected repair comes up.

great color choice too!

By what logic would YOUR rate go up for some asshat smacking into your PARKED and UNOCCUPIED car? I know it's possible and I know it's not unique to this insurance company, but, fuck, man, you drive safe to avoid collisions and then get assaulted in abstention and you are held to account for it? That's the insult to the injury.

Sorry this happened to you and I hope it works out with no more trouble.

No quotes yet. If it's cheap, I may pay out of pocket.

It looks like those white marks will rub off with nail polish remover (use non acetone kind if you do). Or you can just buff it with some rubbing compound. Touch up paint on the rest?

They are pretty deep and there's a chuck out of the bumper.
