2017 BRZ doesn't have starlink?

So I just got my Brz and I noticed the head unit is really basic ( just bluetooth and nav) when I look online I see others with a nice GUI and so called starlink with all the apps and stuff, what's going on?

I think Canada gets different model head units.

Plus you're not missing out. The current head unit in the BRZ doesn't even have NAV. It's pretty much the same unit in my 2016. Bluetooth sucks and it lags. I only use satellite radio anyway.

As far as I know it is the exact same unit as the 2016.

So apparently we are going to have nav through Magellan, but no one seems to know how it works so I imagine we'll get it in some update shortly.

Can you take a pic and post it?

Looking specifically at your radio and dash surround.

I still don't know what the real purpose of "Starlink" is. I used it for a day, thought it was clunky and useless.

Haven't touched it since.

Magellan is a company that made dedicated GPS'. Since no one buys those anymore they partnered with Subaru a little while go to provide GPS services. This would be the first time it has been implemented, but I don't expect much since the Magellan SmartGPS app just crashes on my phone anyway.

As mentioned above, the US Spec head unit and the Canadian Spec head unit are completely different.

On the other hand, I just picked up my 2017 today and during start up, the head unit does say Subaru Starlink. Layout 100% still the same as 2016 units though.
