Car doesn't beep when I lock it with the remote.

Is there a way to enable it?

To my knowledge im pretty sure you need to take it to the dealer, theyll use techstream to get into the car system and enable it.

You can change this yourself by buying an ODB2 Bluetooth dongle and getting an OBD2 customization app on your phone.

I use this app: http://www.caristaapp.com/
Paid $20 for "Pro" features which was needed for customization options. Looks like they changed their pricing structure to be $10 for 1 week of pro now.

Why would you want it to do that ..... ??

Have you thought this through .. ??

For example, if your sneaking into your mistresses apartment and you want to lock your car ..... do you really want everyone in the parking lot to know you are there ........ :iono:

Start-up is embarrassing enough especially when fitted with an aftermarket exhaust and then having it bleep when walking away!!

You do realize you can (silently) lock it from inside before you exit the car?

Fortunately it's just a little beep and not a loud horn honk like many cars.

Now my wife's car is set so the horn honks super-loud. ;)

No I didn't know but my car doesn't bleep. As for the high rev start up, I enjoy it! It's raw and rude!

But I dont think doing that engages the alarm, does it?

since you have a 10 series, try messing with this:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11049

IIRC there is an option in that set up where you can choose for the car to either 'beep' or honk the horn after turning the 'alarm system' on. I'm just recalling off the top of my head, I'll try it in my car after work.
