Why are the Valenti tail lights on ebay cheaper?

Are they fake or something? Been thinking about pulling the trigger on one.

Thought the same but no, it's both.

Demand is down so the price goes down. Economics 101. I think you may see even further drops in the prices of aftermarket head light and tail light assemblies as more 17s hit the street. The new cars have what most seem to want and most of the guys with older ones have switched if they were going to. That Ebay seller may have a bunch and want to unload them.

It's true what the wise Tcoat sayeth. I have a set of Winjet that has been replaced twice already. When they first came out them were like $100 more than they are now.
First set was moisture and this second set now has one led light out. I am done with aftermarket lights. As soon as those 17' stock ones are available to purchase, I'm getting them.

Those prices are going to have to drop even further still if they are to make any moves higher up on my priority list...

Do love the look of those sequential Valenti and Toms tho

There are fakes out.

Impureclient 09-09-2016 09:54 PM

Does it really matter if they are fake. Isn't this like complaining about fake toilet paper or fake clothing. If you can't tell the difference, what does it matter?
All the taillight manufacturers only give a 1 year warranty so, what does it matter if it's a knockoff?
I'm pretty sure every one out there has somebody complaining about them failing whether OEM, aftermarket or replicas.

Fakes usually are lower quality.

I bought smoked Valentis from Thespeedline for around $269 shipped last year. The lens has the Valenti logo so not so sure but they dont look to be counterfeit.

Tom's are by far the most expensive by a long shot and I see the most reports of burnt out LEDs, melting etc.

Whatever you buy, stick with a seller with a good history in case there is an issue. I do recommend the company I bought from.

Like I said in this post. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...ostcount=14637
IMO, the Valenti tail lights that SpeedLine are selling are genuine but gray market. They were shipped to me directly from Taiwan. I have had them installed for ~1 month. Work and look great.

It's been mentioned before (this is just the latest re-confirmation; cant find when it was originally explained):

Your LED's will go out whether they're "genuine" or knock-offs... :(

I don't know if the newer models are different but from what I read on here - someone correct me if I'm wrong - if you have the first version of the lights baking the headlights and taking them apart doesn't give you access to the area of light you need to work on to repair (I believe someone narrowed it down to the soldering points becoming dry and then the wires getting knocked around from day to day driving).
