If you want that red intake manifold, you can buy it and install it on your AT car. iirc you can swap em out.

Has someone figured out what the small unfinished 'tabs' are for on the manifold?
Maybe an engine cover that's coming out next year?

I've already answered this, its for the top mount intercooler for the BRZ STI, duh. ;)

Those tabs look to be in the same position as the tabs on the previous gen intake manifold.

The new manifold is probably shared with other Subarus to increase the commonality of parts as they adopt the FA20 engine as well. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the intercooler bolts onto on a WRX or a Forester.

I'm gonna swap out my intake manifold for a red one once I can get my hands on one :D

Aren't those the tabs where the plastic cover attaches too?

This might be a worth while upgrade, as I read somewhere that the red intake manifold is slightly bigger than the old plastic one.

Dyno proof?

Proof of what?

You couldn't prove that the red intake is responsible for anything as there have been too many other changes to the motor. That 5-15 whp could be coming from many different things. Lets just enjoy the fact that metal is better than plastic :)

Things made of metal are generally perceived to be of better quality.

Cause I think it looks better.

Judging from your previous posts, I'll be waiting for a snarky response.

So more weight for nothing?

Have you noticed it's red...cool.

I honestly think you just prefer the one that you own over the one that you don't own.. but I don't know you.
