Opti-Coat 2.0 and Opti-Guard are completley different and you can not do Opti-Guard yourself. You should check your facts first.

That is 1 coat as Opti-guard was designed be be a single coat but can now be layered though in my finding I have seen less than 15% of the original layer upon using a second so see it as money no very well spent for the client.

Once again 2.0 is completely different to Opti-Guard, and also does not come with a warranty, hence the higher cost and for the more concentrated and warranted product and workmanship. Also we are a fully insured company with a proper set up shop, just for more peace of mind :)

Thanks green_comet. I can't see how they're "completely different".... I do all my own work on my vehicles anyway, so I'm not concerned with a warranty.

I completly disagree note this guy is also the same guy saying neither have a warranty :S unsure where that came from.

In my test using a PDG I find OG about double or more the thickness of 2.0

They are completely different thickness, viscocity, and "purity" for lack of a better term.

Easy to use? Yep!
Easy to stuff it up? Yep!
Easy to fix? Nope!

I applaud your enthusiasm to do it yourself, but make sure you do your research before jumping straight in. Otherwise youll be paying more than your ~$150+ for Opti-Coat 2.0 from USA (most places have $100 minimum purchace, plus about $50 shipping...) to fix your mistakes.... Very noticable PERMANENT mistakes...

There is a lot more to it than buying Opti-Coat 2.0 and applying it straight on your car. Do that and you'll fail big time! You'll need to buy a few more products, and some equipment to prepare the paint to accept the Opti-Coat 2.0. Not cheap....

For around $500+ to get your car corrected to perfection, then coated with a PERMANENT ceramic coating, isn't such a bad idea.... It'll stay looking great for years. Much better and far cheaper than the dealers 'protection packages' offered. ;)

I got quoted $850 @OPT - for two coats, apparently one coat is not recommended. That in itself is conflicting information as to what has been posted on numerous threads in these forums. So either Frank is doing a really shit job (which I doubt) or we are getting shafted due to lack of competition.
