New wheels screwed my fenders
Hello everyone! I've had my FRS for almost half a near now and have been following these forums since I was looking to buy one but this is my first post.
Ok so long story short I bought new wheels (17x8.25 +25offset) on 225/45 tires. I also lowered my car on eibach sport line and the fitment looks great but the problem is that after driving a few days I found that my tires hit my fender and have seem to bend it a little, causing it to look dented or like it has a dimple on both sides. My friend and I tried to get it out and got some but was curious as if it could be fixed to look like it never happened by a PDR guy. Some say it's hardly noticeable but to me it hurts everytime I look at it lol. Any input is appreciated, thank you! Can't upload photos right now and will as soon as possible |

Oops meant +25 lol used to my trucks wheels:bonk: |
If on a seam or crease then PDR can not fix it. If that slight just give it a month and you will not even notice it anymore. And in the future check your fit better before driving around since the results could have been much worse.

Even if a PDR guy could "fix" it ...... it will likely just happen again, unless you make some adjustments to your wheels or suspension.
I suggest you check with a PDR guy and see what he has to say. Then, either make the adjustments or live with the results.....:) Bubba says to take a sawzall and make the wheel wells larger ...... :bonk: humfrz |
Yup what Humfrz said. It will just happen again if its fixed. You may want to look into getting different lowering springs or coilovers to raise up the vehicle.

Your wheel offsets might be off, check the "Flush wheel offset chart" here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535 For 8.25" and lowered 1" you want +39 and +29 in front and rear respectively. A lower offset number pushes the wheel out. So right now you're poking out 14mm past flush in the front and 4mm in the rear. (Note: I'm not a pro with wheel fitment, I'm just saying stuff based on the chart i referenced above) |
I have never seen a wheel width at 8.25 though... wow.

get the fender rolled and pulled by a qualified fender roller guy. that should minimize even more the minimal dent you probably have. then also get camber bolts and add a little more negative camber up front and that should help get enough clearance.

Meet with PDR guy, see if he things you should have your fenders rolled BEFORE or AFTER he tries to work his magic. Get fenders rolled and PDR done accordingly.
Additionally, next time get wheels that fit. |
