Small hood dent/scratch

So I was on the expressway when someone must of chucked up a loose rock and hit my hood...... :brokenheart: Shes my baby and I'm really mad! Anyways the scratch is about 3/4 an inch long and the dent is around the size of a quarter, sorry I don't have a good picture of it but does anyone know how much something like this would cost to fix?

Done properly, $300-$500. How much is the deductible on your insurance?

humfrz 09-07-2016 03:42 AM

If a PDR person can get the dent out and you're good with touch up paint ...... maybe a couple hundred dollars.

Yep, like they say, the first one is always the most painful....:(

That means that you are saving enough money on your insurance payments that you should be able to cover the ~$500 for the repair... right? :iono:

The first one does suck though.

As painful as it may be to stare at that ding every day, I would just leave it alone. For me, fixing paint chips right away is important only for steel parts that may rust. Since the hood is aluminum, I would just wait until you collect a whole bunch of them before getting it fixed. Because, you know, that as soon as you get the chip fixed, you're going to get another one...

That is a really good point! maybe I can pop out the dent on my own and live with the scratch

Being aluminum; the hood will not "pop out" the same as a steel hood. Be careful.

Why don't you go to somewhere that fixes these sort of things and they will let you know how much it will cost to fix?

Perhaps because it's more convenient for him to spend 25 seconds on his keyboard in hopes that someone with a useful point of view might respond.

You know, as opposed to your post.

Depending where it is located, what about going with the Velox hood louver kit? Dent = Upgrade

His only job on this forum is to shitpost everywhere. Check any of his prior posts and I'd estimate about 5% useful factor lol
