710WHP = PLEASURE OVERLOAD.........

Vulcan 09-01-2016 02:21 AM

Type of FI:
Harrop Supercharger, 90mm pulley

Power level:
180kw, 280Nm at the hub

Description of feel and maybe what car you can compare it to:
Feels like an 86 with a V8 transplant. Thing ive noticed the most is how its changed my driving style. Pre blower i pretty much wrung its neck everywhere without worrying about throttle control, now i have to manage all that sweet torque. The 86 is really a big Go-cart so the impression of speed is magnified.
I traded in a new 6.2ltr Caprice for the 86, and while i would think the V8 might win a drag race it never gave me the goosebumps like the 86 does.

Do yourself a favour and befriend someone in a local 86 Facebook club with a FI 86 that might be happy to take you for a spin.

No lol. But certainly alot better than stock. I can cut a 13.8 in the quarter.

Take a picture of the timeslip, I'd be very interested to see how that stacks out. There are 300 HP twins having hard times hitting that.

This whole topic is dependant on traction, I can tell you that with my bridgestone turanza el400 all season tires I was hard pressed to make 13.8@103 on 244 RWHP and 214 RWTQ with the sprintex 335 kit on 93 due to traction issues. With more HP and less TQ I ran a 12.8@110 on the same tires on the 210 kit on e85.

Also, AWD, FWD, and RWD all have different feels.

600whp, barely gets out of boring and into the fun zone; sadly not exciting or scary anymore.

Are your tires 3x stickier than stock?

slicktop 09-03-2016 05:47 PM

500whp feels nice

Speaks to my point. We get accustomed to that acceleration like it's heroin.

I used to make my living being shot off of an aircraft carrier at 8 Gs. It quickly became routine. Top fuelers just go out and do their jobs. It's more entertaining for the crowds than it is for the drivers.

going from 217TQ to 343TQ was thrilling :D

Going along with Dream20b I had a similar 210 setup and we both discussed times in the 1/4 mile thread. best I hit with street tires was 12.9xx and with drags I got down to 12.3xx. With around 280 - 300 whp or so you looking at being right in line with a stock 5.0 or previous gen SS in terms of feel and acceleration if that helps. This was of course with a PD supercharger so you have that midrange torque so maybe with a centri it might not "feel" as fast.

Currently switching to turbo so I'll see how that feels.

Bro what's up with the 13.8, I went 13.4 on a stg2 e85 tune n/a.... Post a slip. I assume you your running 1.9 60ft or worse....which would be understandable for a 13.8

PS I don't mean to sound like a ass I am just curious

Whats up is that I don't have drag radials or slicks lol. Just street tires. I only did a 2.15 60' as you can see. Where's your slip? Trap speed? I have only 1.x psi after 6500rpm so the ESC is very bad for drag no top end. Good for street and autoX.

A 1.9 would put me around 13.0-13.2

How about a video instead of a slip

I have ran as fast as a 104 trap and my 60ft n/a 1.79 was my best 13.5 was a 1.82 I believe. My slips are on the forum here somewhere.
