Best Wheel Size?

What is the best wheel size for the FR-S that will NOT cause rubbing?

Yoshoobaroo 08-28-2016 04:45 PM

15x10

Just kidding, but that's a very vague question. Best for what? Track days? Drag racing? Showing off? Hard parking?

whats the biggest size i can have, its a daily but im going to put a turbo in eventually and want it to be able to handle it

Honestly depending on the tire compound, stock tire size can handle a turbo just fine.

That said, people are running 255s on this car with minimal problems, do some digging in the forum, you'll find plenty of options!

Stock specs are the best for everyday driving and hooning. Throw some spacers on if you want more flush.

What are your horsepower goals for your turbo? At 250hp you can get away with sticky 225s on the stock wheels; at 500hp+ you're gonna be looking into 18x10's.

Easiest answer is go buy some 17x9s in 42 to 35 offset. They'll fit 245-255 width tires and be good for both NA an FI.

BTW, spacesaver donut wheels are shure to not rub on FR-S. If they clear calipers that is :)

17x8 or so with some 235's now in something like an S-04 or PSS will be a huge improvement now, and with FI, and will hold up decently for boost, and if you decide you want more you can step up to stickier rubber.

IMO the best size wheels for stock-ish power levels is 17x8. That holds a 225 tire really well, but you can still run 245 if you need to.

I think so too. You can fit the stock 215s no problem, and you can go up to a 245 RS3/Rival S if you need monster grip

Agree with this. If you're adding a turbo, just go straight to a 9" wheel.
