Central California/ Fresno track mentor

Married 48yo man. I have a 2013 BRZ auto tranny, 4.67 rear end, OTH and tune, for now stock tire and rims. Looking for a track mentor. I have a 3/4 Ton truck but no trailer as yet. Fresno area or close as possible. Or at least lets talk about it!

Maybe @sdlynx can show you the ropes?

Ric Q (forgot his FT86 forum alias) in Fresno would also be a good go to. We'll be out at Buttonwillow at the beginning of Oct at an autox event, but there are plenty of 'track dogs' that moonlight at the autocrosses in Fresno.

Eric G

^ if you're looking for an autox mentor, I'd go with Eric G

Yeah, Eric would be great for AutoX. I'm a road-course guy. I'll be out at Thunderhill on the weekend of Sept. 10/11 (Driving School on Sept. 10 is open but filling up quick).

Then I'm back to Laguna Seca in October and November

Hopefully I'll get a Sonoma weekend in before December too.

Let me know if you are interested. I'll send you some dates, if you are.

Not really track related, but check out Fresno Chapter of SFR SCCA.

Lots of great people out there that I have the pleasure to race with/against. Ric Quinonez (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly) has an FRS. I think his handle is racingric95. Lots of other great peeps out there that are also familiar faces at SFR autocross event. People like Jimmy, Teddie, and even Bryan.

Anyways, consider giving autocross a try. It has it's pros. Little easier on the wallet. Little easier on the tires. Half day commitments depending on the club. Locations can be convenient, also.

Thank you all for your replies. But the day after I posted that. I had to fly to the mid west for a family illness. Been here ever sense. Hopeful l will be back in two week.

BTW: would not running a 4.67 rear end put me in a harder class in autox? Ty

Most mods will put you in a higher class, but... with that said... it really depends what your goal is. If you want to come out and have a good time, then don't worry about classing and stuff. If you wanted to be competitive, then adhering to the rule set is a good idea in order to best your chances in winning.

Absolutely nothing wrong with either.
