bad CV joint?

when I turn sharply to the left I hear clunking from the front left and I can feel it.

99% sure it's my CV joint since another vehicle I had sounded the same and the axle broke.

how much does it cost approx to get it fixed?

damnit Tcoat I know you know

Uh.......
You mean rear left?
Cause.................. Never mind just trust me on this.

I'm about 65% it's your axle nut coming a bit lose. Torque it down again if the problem goes away your set. If it comes back replace with a new nut.

If you cv joint was jacked. You'll know by the grease splattered on your wheel wells.

But...... You won't know till you lift your car up and look. Come on bro, do you even lift(your car)?

If youre talking about the corolla and not the brz then just turn the wheel sharp and hit the gas if its clicking then its 99% the cv axel. I went through about one every 3 months back in highschool LOL.

damnit. yeah I had the same sound from my Mazda 626. I ignored it for a day then one day the axle broke during rush hour traffic lol.

how much do you think it would cost to fix a cv joint? I'm guessing parts and labour would be about $500?

not a chance my friend. its a 2010 corolla big dog. my 03 tiburon was around 100-150$ for cv axle and 100-150$ to get it changed. Under 300$ easy if you do this. No idea where u are but heres what i suggest. Find you a good ole boy shop. The one with the really old guys chilling in the shop decks in chairs with one young guy (this guy is usually a grandson or family friend and does all the manual labor) usually helps if the young guy has a fat wad of dip in and the old guys are smokin a cig. Roll the window down you dont even need gps to find the shop you need. Keep an ear out for song "The Ride" by david allan coe. Find this shop and ur set.

-get your axle from autozone they have a lifetime warranty or something stupid like that so next time it fails or starts clicking just throw it at them and get a new one for free. It pays for itself within a few years.

If you decide to do it my way. heres how to find the shop...

Well you should stated that from the get go.
Corolla eh?

Well, if you take it to a dealer yeah your looking about $500.
Any other shop would do that for about $300.

If you have tools and a place to work at you could do it yourself for $150 depending where you get your axles. YouTube it. It's not that hard. Lift car drain tranny, take wheel off, brake axle nut off, have a meltdown trying to get it off along with the axle. That's pretty much it.

You can save even more if you get them rebuilt from a tranny/axle shop for about $100 or less. That if you take the axle to them.
