Opinion Poll: Trunk vs. Trunk

Buying a Carbon Fiber trunk this week to pop on my BRZ.

I'm planning on slapping a CF SARD LSR wing on it regardless, but am torn between the two options Seibon offers.

The OEM replacement:

<<OR>>

The CSL version (with a small built in duck bill):

Obviously I'll ultimately make the decision based on my own preference so save yourselves the obvious "get what you like" comments. I'm just curious as to what other people's thoughts are!

Let's hear it.

List of mods and pics of your car?

If you're going to put a wing on it, get the trunk without a lip. But I prefer just the duckbill alone personally.

Will snag some pics when I get home haha been waiting because still working on aero fitment.

Engine;
HKS EL Header
Grimmspeed CAI
Grimmspeed Crank Pulley

Interior;
WC Lathewerks custom engraved SS teardrop shift knob
Raceseng Red Reverse Lockout
5D carbon wrapped interior trim (Dash, Cluster Hood, Shifter Trim, Door Handles)
Red wrapped interior vent trim

Exterior;
WRB
Gloss Black Roof Wrap
Seibon TA-Style Front Lip
Seibon TB-Style Side Skirts
Seibon TB-Style Rear Diffuser

And the SARD wing and trunk are possibly the last exterior mods except maybe some hood louvers or a vented paint-matched CF hood.

This is exactly what I was going to say. With the SARD wing, go plain trunk, but that duckbill trunk looks amazing on its own.

Tuned to 184 whp and 156 tq by Bren Tuning in Charlton, MA

Planning for 18" rims

Stock suspension, and no intention to leave stock height. (Maine roads suck dong)

I am never really a fan of the big wing. I personally really love the duckbill look.

I understand that's a lot of people's opinions.

Tbh my biggest influences for my whole build are the Porsche Cayman GT4 meeting the level of exposed carbon fiber on a Koenigsegg One:One.

I know that sounds like some 14 year old's wet dream but fuck it it's what I want lol.

Here's a rear shot of the GT4, has a low riding gt wing with a lower duck bill (hence my debating the idea)

Wing + Wing = too many wings, and probably makes your aero worse not better. Get the OEM + the GT wing that you're planning.

Trust these guys, they kinda know what they're doing.

That I did haha

I appreciate the response ;) making me recheck my opinion and retrace my reasoning isn't a bad thing.

Well, personally, I think the "big wings" detract from the lines of the car. My eye is drawn to the "wing" and not the rest of the car.

Also, I feel that big wings are OK for the track, where they look more in place and may serve a function. However, driving around town ....... I think of "ricer" .... "wanna be" ...... "immature" ..... of course, I'm old and ..... and ...... what were we talking about ...... :(
