Ecutek race rom auto blip feature question?
 

As my understanding,Auto Blip can be used to match the revs on downshift, the driver brakes and selects the lower gear and the electronic throttle automaticaly blips the throttle. However, when I brake and clutch with the right rev and speed but without down shifting. It still causes revs automatically. is it normal?

It's normal. It's activated by the clutch being pressed while the brake pedal is depressed. It has nothing to do with gear selection.

Yes as above the ecu does not get feedback from manual gearbox as to the gear your about to select.


The gear display on dash is calculated from engine rpm and speed and its only calculated when clutch is fully released.


Other than reverse theirs no hardware switch to signal gear selection.


the only way around it is to clutch in before brake on then it wont blip (it only blips if brake on before clutch in and activate speed and rpm is above thresholds), or turn it off on a map selection.
