Has anyone seen the ads for the frs and noticed that at first they said the base price was around 24000 now they are saying around 26000 is this going to be a trend due to demand for the car

WolfsFang 07-07-2012 09:28 PM

Rossman 07-07-2012 09:38 PM

I remember it saying "starting at" which would be manual. Autos are a costlier option.

Yeah - commercial on TV says "starting at $26k, as shown $26,8xx), and they show a manual transmission in the commercial. That said, I wouldn't expect an ad agency to get every detail right...

The commercial used to say 24000

It is 24k and change...before destination charge which is almost $800. Standard television or commercial deception. The destination charge actually varies slightly by area which is why they don't include it, but it is mentioned in the commercials text.

The commercial is for the auto. The price ($26,030) in the commercial is the same price advertised on Scion.com.

I got excited the first time seeing it. If they really did raise the price, then those that bought before the increase got a bump in resale. But that isnt the case.

As a guy who has to work with agencies all the time, be sure, they will get the details right - it's a legal liability if they don't! They will be getting all their info from Toyota/Subaru, who in turn will have content & legal teams internally reviewing all work before it's released.

The commercial FR-S also includes BeSpoke which is almost a $1000 dollar option, don't forget that. And i'm sure they have the bumper appliqué and a few other little things.

My Automatic was $27,588 with the bespoke system, mudguards, trunk mat and the crappy window tint, which I have to redo because it is not dark enough, 42% window tint is not SC legal tint our legal tint is 27% so they ripped me off $399 there.

I am going back and getting the extended warranty too 8 years 120,000 miles for $2400.
