I've just done this swap in the past few weeks. I used the oem rear dust shields which wasn't too much effort, I didn't like the idea of cut tin around the brake hoses.

Nice. So pretty much undo the big nut, undo the 4 bolts behind the knuckle, and pull the hub out? Is the park brake cable just a matter of wiggling the right way to get it out of the old shield and into the new one?

That's it. The dust shield integrates the parking brake assembly so it is necessary to pull it apart, however I marked the pieces with a coloured pen and it was relatively easy to re-assemble.

When I undid the 4 bolts the hub just fell away, for those that live in corrosive environments the job might be a pain if the hub is rusted on.

Does anyone know the difference between the repair kits?

What gives?



I am going to get mine powder-coated to a different color, so I need a repair kit for each caliper. Whats worse, I went to the parts department, and asked them what the difference was, they said "they have no idea". -_-

The expensive one is for Brembo calipers. The cheap one is for the standard non-Brembo ones.

The parts diagrams can be confusing. Even the diagrams that have Brembo brakes in the title still includes both options in the parts listings.

I find that the parts descriptions on subarusource.com are more detailed than any other place I've looked. Prices are pretty good also.

FYI - I just received confirmation from Centric that the performance high-carbon "replacement" rotors for the PP packaged have been discontinued. I ordered them like 6 months and they were still listed on their website/distributor sites as available, but out of stock. Turns out they were actually discontinued.

They do have the C-Tek "standard" rotors available still. Part numbers 121.47019 & 121.47043.
