Shop in Vancouver?

I just purchased a Scion FRS Series 10 M/T with 60,000 miles on it... It needs the 60K service which includes spark plugs. Any shop recommendations in Vancouver?

Vancouver Toyota wants $800 for the 60,000 mile service... Looking for something a little cheaper. Don't really care about all the "inspection" stuff since the dealer I bought it from did that part of it (allegedly).

Thanks!

DIY plugs are cheap and so are the fluids.

I work at a race shop in Vancouver. We just work on racecars but I could help you out if you don't find anyplace else to do it. I've not done plugs on this car but I'm sure we could figure it out and get it done. Email me because I don't check here often christopher_rgiles@yahoo.com

It's not a street car race shop. We have spec racer fords about 35 of them. http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/a...729_072028.jpg
These are what they look like. I'm newish to the frs/brz but have been working on cars for 15+ years. And would be willing to help some guys out when I've got the free time. The shop is near downtown Vancouver near i5 off 14

We rent these cars also. We also work with prodrive racing school and they can get you set up to get your racing license so you can race in real races. We will be at our this weekend if you want to come check it out. It's a scca event so there will be a number of other races going on this weekend also.

It's nothing fancy and we like to keep it on the DL that we have racecars there.

Nice, I will be shopping for a specific Ford or Miatas next year. Maybe I will stop by one of these days.

@TurtleFace, maybe Rio will let us tag along for a visit. :D

You can go to PRE in Portland off of Airport Way.

That could happen

user4815 08-20-2016 01:56 AM

Thanks for the help everyone, glad to have a few more options now.

FNCrazy 08-20-2016 02:19 AM

I don't know what those cars are, but I definitely want to play. Although again, probably one of those "too fat to play" things. Oh well :)

@Rio Can you say B-Mod?? :D

Hey Mysta, just wondering, have you done spark plugs on a Subaru boxer engine before? I keep reading it's a maintenance nightmare (possibly to even out how easy the oil changes are). I'm coming up on the 60k mark too, so finger's crossed you can work something out for less than $800!

For anything fluids related, I take my car to Autumn's auto lube off of mill plain.

For literally everything else with the FRS (spark plugs can be a bitch on this car) I would take it down to VIP performance down near 82nd in portland. Literally the best guy to work on FRS locally. The owner's wife owns an FRS and he is affordable and fast.
For reference he did a FD swap in my car in 3 hours and it runs perfect LOL. That's incredible haha, I bet he would charge you $200 max for labor for all 4 plugs maybe less

I've not done them but even doing them by the book would not be that big of a issue for me and I would not be charging 800 bucks for it.
