WHO KNOWS? Engine component weights & dimensions?

Has anyone compiled a list of engine component dimensions and weights that they would be willing to share?

I have searched for a while to find weights of Crankshaft, flywheels, clutch, etc.
MOST of the google searches point back here, but it just discussions about parts and guesses about weights that I am finding.

Hard to trust shipping weights when a crankshaft shows as weighing 5 lbs on one site & 40 lbs on another.

I am also trying to find the diameter of stock flywheel. Does anyone know? I want to make some calculations using the attached file. The included example in the file is for BMW M3.

@justatroll: Do you agree with the calculations they are doing? Just to be sure that there is no fallacy in their reasoning ...

Nevermind, I found it.

Flywheel disc diameter is 230 mm or 9 1/16 inches. OEM weight is 9.34 kg or 20.59 lbs.

I'll try to have a look at that link later.

I am modeling engine components in solidworks/Onshape and I have mass properties for some of the major components.
I was going to post my findings soon, but I'm not quite ready yet.

Cmon, someone knows how much a crank weighs....
And then one rod with piston
Flywheel with clutch package

Here is the FW model I had so far, it has a diameter of 260mm and a total weight of 33.7 lbs to account for the pressure plate and the clutch disk.

I could model all of the engine components but it takes me longer to determine wild ass guesses for the dimensions and the weights than it takes me to actually model it.

Here is the pic of the crank I have so far, but is it accurate? I have no idea.

If some could help out by providing dimensions and weights, I would share these models to anyone who is interested.

Surely there are some out there that have at least had some of these parts shipped to them so they know the weights.
Anyone who has a crank out on a bench could take a picture with a ruler in the image and I could work from that.

That is COOL!
Interesting software and free to boot!

I would love to help out.
Doesnt anyone have some engine component weights to contribute?
Makes me want to take my engine apart just to participate.

Check out OnShape it is made by the same people that did solidworks so it has the same user interface. There are more advanced features that you have to pay for, but for a free 3D CAD program, it blows away Sketchup.

And a BUMP for someone that has engine or drivetrain component weights

Bump

Not a single person that knows the weight of any engine components?
