I doubt TSA will recall. They will wait until we go to them, or, if someone dies first.

Thanks for the note...
This toyota link was for Toyota Aus. Would it affect us in the same way?

The VIN list below includes all vehicles involved. Do your cars have the knee airbag anyway?

Yes we do...

I've mailed my dealer to try and get confirmation from them (if it's required, why wait right?)

I received the recall letter from my dealer , but i won't be the first test mule for this!
It might be best to wait until they have successfully done a few first.

"Dear -----------

We acknowledge receipt of your e-mail.

The Special Service Campaign for Toyota 86 models does affect some vehicles in our market.

To check if your vehicle is affected by the recall, kindly forward your VIN number or call our Customer Care Centre on 0800 139 111 with
your vehicle details."

I'm pretty sure mine is included (and haven't had any issues), but will be sending it in. I don't mind being a test mule - Toyota would not issue a recall for no reason, so might as well!

TSA sending out the notices. Just waiting for mine.
Dude on the phone said its really not that bad - just small chance power steering could go, but not like you'll lose all steering.

The electric power steering not functioning isn't a train smash.
The steering just gets heavier, but it still works fine.

I have it every time on a racetrack - it's a common issue when tracking an 86 on sticky tyres - the PS overheats. After about 10 mins of on-the-limit cornering, the PS just goes away. Actually gives the car a better feel, but does get tiring because it can be hard work. :)

For me - I won't be getting mine "fixed" by Toyota.
I'd rather take the small risk of it failing, than the risk of some idiot tech fiddling with my steering and doing something dumb.

HI All

Toyota does not have stock of the ecu and wiring harness as yet. this should be available from end of the Month
