OE Replacement Dampers

I really wanted to start this thread just to see what type of interest is out there aside from me in a set of OE replacement adjustable dampers.

Koni tends to be one of the only provider of these, while RCE has produced the GTWORX Impreza Cup Sport dampers with Bilstein for the WRX and has hinted this product will likely hit the market for the BRZ/FR-S as well. I am not trying to start a thread of "this product is junk, or this product is better, etc..." I just think if there is enough interest, it would be nice to have options.

My preference would be to see a non-cartridge style, rebuildable, double adjustable for separate compression and rebound adjustment.

These are legal for stock class autocross, and I feel it's going to be imperative to put this car at the top of C-stock. In addition, these will also be beneficial to anyone lowering their vehicle with springs instead of coilovers.

I would bet that you will be appeased. Personally I'm looking forward to a Bilstien HD or Sport shock. A Simple not adjustible monotube for a really mild sub one inch ride height reduction spring, that can keep up. Getting them custom valved is fairly easy as well.

I'm definitely interested since I want to race in C-Stock but I'm not sure what is coming from different vendors yet. I was looking at maybe some Koni inserts like the 8611s but I'd have to find someone with a BRZ willing to sell of their stock suspension since I don't know if I want to hack mine up. :)

I actually have a set of double adjustable Ground Control Advance Design struts with some custom Impreza strut bodies but I'm not sure if they would fit the BRZ strut housings. They were last rebuilt about 5 years ago and have been sitting in my garage so I'd have to get them rebuilt and revalved for the softer BRZ stock springs.

With the interest in the car I have no doubt we'll see something probably by the end of this year or early next year. I would definitely be interested in something rebuildable.

Count me in as a future customer! I'll also be racing in C-Stock, but dont want to turn the car into a trailer queen. I just think there is something inherently wrong with cars raced in Stock classes being undrivable. If there was a shock that could provide a wide enough range of real adjustment to competitively provide double duty, provide more than a year of street durability, count me in!

I'm personally hoping AST comes out with something.

Koni yellows maybe an option (when they come out!) I have heard of folks that get them converted to DA. Not sure how durable or usable they are once converted though.

Good point, I want to use the car as a daily driver or even drive it longer distances to events with my tires in the back seat.

I know race shocks are generally not as durable and have shorter rebuild cycles. I have a truck and trailer so it's not a big deal but I like driving the car.
