86 in HOT weather

How does yours run when its over a hundred (not index but radiant) degrees outside. Mine runs like krap all. It bogs no get and go. Saturday was a hot day and the temp guage was reading 113f, and the car was just slouchy to say the word. WTF I think the sun would be cooler!

Add oil cooler and big rad, maybe?

Intake air temperatures seem to have a pretty big impact. Especially in stop and go traffic. Plug in an OBDII and monitor intake air temp and i bet you will see it spike while you are at a stop light, and as soon as you move it comes back down again. I have felt the same thing.

Its IAT and heat soak. Every car runs like shit when its extremely hot out.

Same physics that have vehicles running better in cooler, denser air.

2 months of this shit. We covent our wam weather in the South but this is to much warm

Turn off your A/C and switch your HEAT on high.

Your car will run better, but you might not make it.

Try early morning and late evening drives!
That strong summer sun melts plastic parts , cooks electrical parts and boils water and oil!

Last summer when I ran 91 octane it was pretty shit. Especially in the torque dip range. But once I switched to 93/94 octane it was fine. We've had heat waves for the last few weeks and it still revs freely. I also leave the A/C off most of the time

runs fine at 100 degrees fahrenheit ....it's not as if the car feels fast in the first place until you finish redlining 3rd gear then you are having some fun

AdrianSaldana 08-08-2016 11:32 AM

mine runs fine its 100f+ everyday

Try cleaning the MAF. May not be the heat but the humidity that is messing with you. Rode in @gramicci101's in 110 degree heat in Vegas and it seemed to run just fine. We have been pushing 100 here for a few weeks and I have noticed zero difference in mine.

I remember those humid ass Georgian summers. Man they sucked!

RichardsFRS 08-08-2016 12:31 PM

Tcoat right you don't get dry heat in the South. You get boiling swamp heat, and its nasty. I'll look into the maf and clean it

Oh, I'd suggest you just make a large glass if iced tea, kick back in front of the A/C and take a nap. The errands will wait till evening ...... ;)
