Worldwide Power Steering Issue Safety Recall
 

In New Zealand we have just had announce a recall affecting 86s from 2012 to 2015 regarding a power steering issue. Recall says it affects 23,400 cars worldwide.

Doesn't look like it impacts North America or left hand drive Europe.

No they do not.

Way back in yore when I first started here (all of 2 years ago) there was a guy in Australia that actually had his steering lock up while driving at speed. We threw a bunch of theories at it (as we tend to do) but a bad harness was not one of them. Now we have the answer.

Sounds like the forum was on to it before Toyota !!

If I get really ambitious I will try to find it and see if anybody wins the 'Guess The Issue Before Toyota Knows' prize.
