No, what I meant was it is not a requirement to adequate living. I am suggesting both you and the OP have enough food to eat, have somewhere to bed at night, clean water to drink. Therefore a new car is a luxury not a necessity.

Mmmm. I wonder what you base that statement upon. I am none of your suggestions but I have been fortunate enough to travel and see that many people, including many Australians, do not have the means to buy a new car. A dole bludger would not be in a position to purchase a car. And a "dirty immigrant? What is that?
