Footwell lighting

Hey guys I'm thinking of purchasing these :

Does anybody have any experience installing them and can help me? I'm not comfortable doing it myself and would need some guidance.

Or if you have suggestion on a different light that's better let me know.

I think that should be a fairly simple, plug and play install.

I would look at DiodeDynamics. They sell a much larger variety of LED strips and at more reasonable prices.

Those, however, are not plug-and-play strips like Subaru's seems to be (but I still can't understand a price that high for something that is not as complicated as the price might imply).

Either way, it mainly depends on how you plan on making them work (doors opening, fully manual switch, etc.) as that will dictate the installation difficulty.

Just measure your footwell (I don't know how wide they are), get the length and color that you want, and go to town if you want it truly matched to your taste.

I used about 5 meters of led strips in my last car total. Different ones wired to different switches, and also had exterior led strips that would turn on when a door was opened. Led strips can be purchased at most local car stereo shops, and most will also install them for not a whole lot of money too. So also keep that in mind.

I bought a kit from diode dynamics with bluetooth RGB and can make them any color I want. Just hardwired it to the cigarette lighter in the center console

I've never looked into diode dynamics, I always used race sport for my stuff....but they actually have a Bluetooth rgb kit? Controlled through a smart phone app hopefully?

I spent $20 on two LED strips at Autozone and wired it into the 12v plug that is in the glove box. $20 is much cheaper than any diodedynamics or ft86speed factory kit. You're welcome to come see what I did as it looks just as good as what you're looking to pay $150+ for from ft86speedfactory.

Can also just click 'additional' and the install manual is provided...again it appears to be really simple plug and play. A jumper harness is provided to go inline with the hazard switch plug.

How do you turn this on/off?

The Subaru Online Parts is also $30 cheaper and has free shipping.
