Uh oh

Toyota care employee leaves rag inside my car. Slightly stationed on the passenger side of the engine in the left metal sitting above the battery section. Just laying on a flat piece of metal I hope...
What should I do?

Mr.ac 07-30-2016 01:00 AM

Deep question.
Ok. Be calm. Slowly call 911, tell them there is a rag in your engine bay. Request bomb squad. While they show up, go around your neighborhood tell everyone to leave at lest 2 miles.

Once everything is safe, sell your car, it's totaled.

Keep it and don't say a word. You can then brag about how you ripped Toyota off for .002 cents.

Oh and...

FOR CHRIST SAKE SQUADY GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER

Meh, at least it's OT.

That's a bit of an overreaction. I doubt the car's totaled.

I'd suggest you neatly fold it ...... and place it on the shelf, where you keep the sponge, that they left and later recovered, from your brain........:D

Checked with an insurance adjuster friend. Rag left under hood does indeed warrant write off. In fact it is one of those rare cases where you get full replacement value for the car.
Unless of course it was an act of god or the result of terrorism in which case it isn't covered at all.

Have you ever seen a service rag? My god, all those chemicals being released into the engine bay. Trust me. It's not a pretty rag. Car is totaled.

oops

There's a copy of the Washington Post in your engine bay? Good lord, man, call Fox news!

Who knows it could be a rag but the next time an EXPLOSION... I was thinking of going to the next appointment coming up in the late August and show them the rag. Plus my car battery just needs to have a warning sensor or something at least like a laptop does... I hope the carmakers don't steal my idea and profit off of it... want to know what's crazy? I tweeted to Apple(publicly/twitter) I manipulated my phone to not "charge" while it needs to turn on from a dead battery to turning "on" right away and all of a sudden week later Android comes out with a phone that doesn't need to "charge" anymore. FML

EDIT: It's also fucked up that my girlfriend was there when she saw me pull out this rag from my engine bay and told me exactly what you guys told me too, but as I said... I am just glad that everybody is okay.
