Aux not an aux..... WTF?

So if anyone has an FR-S with the Bespoke system you may or may not know that your aux jack.... ya its not actually an aux jack. I guess its only a support hole for when using the IPod cable... which is some biggity bullshit if you ask me. But, the bluetooth audio is decent. Just really sucks ass I cant use my zune.

Lil Abner 07-06-2012 09:26 PM

That's interesting, because in my FR-S with the base Pioneer, the AUX jack is truly and AUX jack. Did you check the owners manual?

cruzinbill 07-06-2012 09:48 PM

Indeed I have and that's why I'm confused... it only mentions use of the usb & blue tooth for external audio devices. I'm hoping that I'm just missing something because it would be retarded to "upgrade" and lose aux capability.

Bill, that would be very stupid to loose the AUX function. Hopefully someone on here can help with a solution for it!

You may have to turn on the AUX jack in one of the menus, I had to with my aftermarket Pioneer headunit I had in my Civic (the Bespoke is Pioneer correct?).

Bill, I found this old post. It may, or may not help. Post #10:

Yeah because if the AUX function was "loose" it would rattle around all over the floor and make a bunch of noise.

I think I read from some other thread that the aux cable was not connected by the dealer. you may want to pull your radio out to have a look.

so if u plug something into the aux only how are you getting sound... like what button are you pushing? Ipod is grayed out and there are no other buttons that have anything to do with aux

I do know when they install the bespoke you have to use the new supplied usb and aux cable which if i'm not mistaken plugs into the usb on the car. I watched our master tech install one on the first fr-s we sold.

cruzinbill 07-16-2012 05:42 AM

well the whole thing is it works fine when you do use that cable, but that is only for ipod/phone. it works fine for my iphone. If you plug in somthin just to the aux tho it does nothing so its iphone or usb flash drive... thats your options.

I can't figure out why they did this either. I also have a Zune that can't be used with this. I just bought a 32gb thumb drive and leave it plugged in to the USB port. If I want to play podcasts, I can do it from my tablet over a2dp.

It is strange for the upgraded stereo to lose this function, IMHO.
