FA20 Engine to ECU compatibility

Hello all, I am in a bit of a dilemma whereby I have blown a head gasket and have a few options:

1) Fix the current motor (67K km, 40K km boosted), originally I thought this would be the most cost efficient method however given that the engine has to come out, it would be wise to do a full gasket job and belts etc and since it overheated with the blown headgasket the heads (and possibly block) need resurfacing, my larger concern is that the block is warped. Cost~ 3K

2) Purchase a 2012 motor with 8000km, knowing it has potential for all the 2012 problems (my current motor is a 2012). Cost~ 3K

3) Purchase a 201x motor? This is where I do not know what engines are compatible with my 2012 ECU and was wondering if anyone knew. After reading @John Rambo 's ordeal with his replacement motor I am a bit wary of getting an engine which is later than 2014. Cost~ 3-3.5k

*prices don't include labor for engine removal and replacement.

Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks :thanks:

Gav
