Both goals are possible. It's pretty straightforward to hit 400 whp in these cars; you just throw a turbo and a lot of money at it and keep your fingers crossed that your engine block isn't the one that lets go on the dyno. I wouldn't put that much work into an engine just because I wanted a Camaro owner to respect me though.
Or you could take a step back, take a deep breath, and recognize that it doesn't matter even one bit if some random other car owner you've never met and will never meet has respect for you, because they don't. And they won't. And that's just life. |

My personal disapproval of your motives aside, you're looking at a big turbo kit. But guess what happens next, built mustangs and camaros know about you so you gotta build to beat them. It's much cheaper and better for your mental health to just be able to ignore them. Whatever you choose to do, I hope it makes you happy regardless of what others think or say. |

pretend like you will race by revving your engine then let them peel off and you just cruise along and get into their lane right after they take off or pull up to the right of them and rev your engine asking them to race and when the light turns green you turn right instead while they are screeching tires |
These cars are one of the most affordable sports cars on the market today. A lot my friends asked me why I went with the slower FRS vs 3.8 Genesis Coupe I was originally going to buy. I let them know that you can make any car fast however steering and the handling of car is hard to replicate. I couldn't believe the first impression the car made. Sure the numbers look weak on paper however it makes up with the shifting of lanes and cornering of the roads. I know I got the right car. She's not my dream car however she is a great car to learn and play with.

This is typical playground behaviour. I can respect someone wanting to put money into their car because it is their hobby. It's what they do. Don't take this the wrong way, but In my opinion, your reasoning is just not there. Don't be the village idiot. |

Thats cool if TCoat is more eloquent than I am, not too worried about that one. :respekt: |
Truth comes out lol
Dude you bought the wrong car! No one driving a camaro thinks about weight when they have nearly 500hp and that much torque. Trust me I had a GT and it was a beast compared to my FRS. The FRS is fun in other ways. You bought the wrong car for red light racing. DONT REDLIGHT RACE |
This thread made my day.

I learned to ignore them and now just giggle when they rev beside me. They're idiots...Let it go. You have nothing to prove and will only get yourself in trouble. I didn't buy this car to f'ing race on the streets. I bought it to have fun and refuse to let someone take that away from me. |

You will not gain their "respect" by being faster. If they are reving on you then odds are they will not respect you if you beat them by a mile. All you will succeed in doing is getting them to go faster and then you go faster then they go faster until eventually somebody winds up in jail or the morgue. When they rev on you just smile and wave and drive a away like a civilized person should when on a public road. |
