Need help with NASA

Im looking to start racing the FRS end of this year and all of next year. I Signed up on NASA website so I can go to the local events in Houston & Austin. I will be doing the HPDE level one for now. But I can not find out if I need to pay the 45 dollar membership and how do I register for the Events. for instance on SEP 3&4 there is a opening for HPDE1 for 325$ in HOUSTON that I want to go to. Thanks in Advance

Did some googling, email the organizers:

Questions?
Call 737-932-7004 or email will@drivenasa.com
This is one of the events right:

They should be more than happy to respond, odds are low someone here will know off the top of their head.

Pretty sure you must be a NASA member for all HPDE/PT/TT/Race groups.

Hyperdrive is open to anyone.

You need to buy an annual NASA membership before signing up for one of the events.

does NASA require this kind of race suit in order to race?

If you attempt to sign up for an event on the NASA site without a membership, it will add one to your cart, and you can pay for it at the same time. It is a pretty painless process.

I'll be at the September event at MSR Houston running in HPDE 3. We have a few other 86's coming out as well. I look forward to seeing you there.

No, but you need an AA certification in order to google anything associated with them successfully.

What about brakes?

Anyone know whats involved in becoming a NASA volunteer? Would I just sign up for an event as a volunteer and await further instructions?

I would suggest reaching out to your local NASA Region directly on that. It could be so many things from helping with registration, tech, timing, paperwork, grid, setup, etc.
