Rear Bumper Exhaust Shield

Wasn't sure on what section to put this in, but anyways...

Does anyone have any suggestions on who makes or what to do for a rear bumper exhaust shield? Not looking for the looks, purely for fuction as my exhaust is getting a little hot for the plastic stock diffuser.

I tried searching, but no results.

Would be nice for something like this:

Is your bumper actually melting?I wouldn't expect the tips to get hot enough to melt anything. I don't know anyone who makes a shield

It is. I picked a piece of plastic off the exhaust tip the other night. I guess it's off to make one out of metal for me.

lava mat, same stuff for turbo blankets

or aluminum tape.
You could probably rivet the lava mat on if you are worried about it falling off. Or just keep reapplying the aluminum tape as you would have a full roll.

We are in the process of releasing these right now :).

Pictures below. The neat thing about our cover is that it doesn't use gel coat, so no yellowing over time. It is also 100% carbon throughout, no fiberglass. It is polished high temp carbon at that; which is meant specifically for this type of hot environment. It looks high-end motorsports in person.

What kind of matrix do you use for the composite? I've been trying to find one that doesn't yellow..

That's why I'm asking, I've been trying to find a plastic matrix that doesn't yellow. I've made quite a few CF parts and they always yellow from UV exposure. I'd really like not to have to sand/clear CF parts every couple of years.

could also get longer exhaust hangers if the exhaust is just sitting too close to the diffuser. I had that issue with my Injen exhaust.

@VeloxEric : I wonder ..
- Wouldn't it be better to make them from metal to reflect heat? (possibly cheaper too)
- Also .. how about making also maching "blank" ones, for single-exhaust owners.
- And imho squared form like in OP looks a bit more stylish (though i'd prefer covering more area, eg. up to towing hook hole and slightly wider).
