How many times have you banged your knee into the center console?
Just a thread for fun.
I think it took me 2 1/2 years to learn how to get into this car properly without destroying my knee throwing it into the center console. And when that happens, OWW :confused0068: How are you 2014+ owners enjoying your padded consoles? |
How?!
Only thing I bump into its the lower part of the door with my feet... Usually when I can't open the door all the way. |
Are you diving in headfirst?
|
Never. My knee can't even touch the console.
|
zero
I didn't even know there was such a thing as 'shin guards' on this car. |
I kick the sides of my car everytime I get in. I'm not even tall, can't imagine tall people getting in the car. I always have to prop myself up with my elbows from my seat to get out too.
|
I'm 6' 5" Never a problem.

2013 FR-S. Five months of daily driving and eight autocross events. No knee injuries to report.
I think you're doing it wrong. |
Do a quasi squat as you drop your ass into the seat and keep your head down as you drop in. Wedge your outside arm onto the outer side of the seat for leverage and rotate your lower body pivoting on your bum and swing your legs in. I've never hit my knees.
Hope the explanation makes sense! |

Never ever, ever banged my knee on the centre console of my BRZ. I used to own a Caterham. when the roof was up there is a very special way of getting in that involves several contortions and still never hit knee, head or anything else on the central tunnel..
|
Still confused as to how you can hit your knee on the center console lol.
|
Not even once.

Must have been a big enough issue that they padded it.
Yet more evidence the FRS (14s and up at any rate) are better! https://www.scion.com/blog/wp-conten...Knee_DS_R1.jpg |
