I've seen race replicas of the WRX rally cars on the street occasionally with all the Subaru stickers and graphics; I wonder why no one has done a GT-300 style replica with a WRB BRZ and a wide-body kit. done right, it could look good.

Here's another view I found:

I am not sure about external replicas, but overall this car has small relation with the production version. Overall, it is heavily modified by R&D Sport and STi. They didn't even use an ordinary EJ20 engine during the powertrain changes. Check an article about the engine details:

By the way, today it finished 3rd position in Sugo.

yes, i understand that the GT300 has as much resemblance to a BRZ as the NASCAR CoT has to it's 'stock' model; I'm just talking about an external model.

I've wondered that from the moment I laid eyes on the JGTC MR-S and Celica from the early 2000s (not to mention the NSX such as the ARTA cars).

Then I realized that while those massive wheels, widebody kits, front splitters and zero-ground clearance/zero-wheel gap look great and work great on glass-smooth pavement, they would last less than a day in an average urban environment.

Whereas WRC cars are made to handle rough roads, so street environments should be no problem.

Racecars aside, I am kind of surprised we haven't seen more widebody kits. I'm not talking Rocket Bunny, "look at me", or stance nation type stuff, but just some nice integrated flares like you might expect on M cars, old RS or STi cars, etc..

Another podium win for BRZ GT300. It finished in 3rd position behind BMW M6 and Audi R8.

Well done Subaru, good job! :happyanim:

Because of the suspension architecture, a lot of GT class wide-body cars don't translate well to street versions. For the FR-S and BRZ, look how high the top of the tire line is on the GT300 versus the production versions. The GT300 is almost at the top of the hood.

Here's another example of a poor transition into street version. (disclaimer: I still adore the MKII TRD widebody, not bashing.)
