How do you know this is a Canadian review?

Edit: never mind

From the sounds of the article, the Performance Package will be offered in Canada at a later date.

Testing was held at Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit and Subaru Canada has been tweeting about it with some journalists. Should be several more reviews in the next day or two I would assume.

Yeesh... that shade of red is so blah. Wish they did a darker metallic red instead of a bright fire engine "LOOK AT ME" shade. Seems that they really want the blue one to sell the most, as it's the only one where the lines and bulges don't get washed out (red, silver, white, and yellow) or hidden (black, almost black grey) by the colors.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new refreshed exterior look? The front end looks blah and the spoiler looks hideous. To me, this design language looks like the 2017 ft86 which looks like it's trying to copy the design language throughout toyotas lineup, fangs and all, just seems off

I liked it when I saw the press release pictures, but the pictures in that article were not flattering at all. It looks like a cheap Chinese bodykit IMO.

This, totally. The lower chin line looks soft, with its full width smile. The strafes just look odd. The whole front end looks like a doodle that got the 'change for change sake' thumbs up.

The sharper mustache geometry just accentuates . . . the universally hated, fucking mustache. This was a chance to bury it and enable a cool grille option. Thank God my plate hides a third of it on my car.

The headlights don't turn my crank aesthetically - if they're better from a real world, functional, night time perspective, then they'll get my attention.

Ditto the tail lights. They look like aftermarket wannabes.

The spoiler is just fucking weird looking - I don't care how functional or rearwardly invisible it is.

I find the spoiler acceptable in all angles except this:

Just something about seeing that flat spoiler sitting on top of curvy, wide-rounded edges looks awkward straight on. All other viewing angles it looks fine to me.

I also think Subarus choice of red and yellow on this car will show how poorly it'll age over time. That red already doesn't look good in images with light conditions. I can't imagine how it'll look like in ten years with the heat that we have in Texas.

You have to watch the related video to be sure.
I don't think you can get more Canadian!

Not so sure really. Their statement could be taken to mean it will be available later or not coming at all. Sort of ambiguous.

"Those looking for more confidence in a sports car, however, can get the new performance package, which includes an even sportier suspension and bigger brakes. It sounds like a must-have for anyone considering tracking their car, but Northerners should be warned, as there’s no such package available in Canada."

Still can't get over how ugly that spoiler is and how dumb it is to not have it as an option. *sigh*

olsonpg 07-23-2016 01:26 AM

Does anyone really care what those canadians think tho?

We know this was not a BRZ dashcam, because the car caught up with the moose.

That is why the moose fell over. Pure shock!
