I might be returning to the 86 family!

I have been trying to reduce my bills as much as possible before starting law school next month. This included revisiting my car loan. I'm debating selling my Wrx next week and picking up a used 86. It would drop my payments a lot. Ironically my car is worth more now ($25.9) than what I paid for it($25.5), so yay for no negative equity.

FWIW I never really felt the same about the WRX as I did my FRS, and I still spend more time on here than NASIOC even though I no longer have an 86.

Anyway, I looked at a 2013 Galaxy Blue BRZ Limited with 34k on it. The dealer is asking $17,999 which I thought was pretty fair. Carfax is clear, and it was a dealer demo car (only owner), so all service has been done.

What do you guys think on the price? Anyway hopefully I'll be back soon!

I saw your user in NASIOC, but I wasn't sure if you were the same person. :)

I think it is a good move. Prices should drop now ...

It's funny, because depending on what changes they make to the looks of the next gen WRX,I'll more than likely be trading in my FR-S for one.

Not that I don't like the FR-S,in fact I love my car,but I've always wanted a WRX or STI.

You can expect it to look like the 2017 impreza but slightly more aggressive.

The WRX is a great car but like some of the reviews said it's a jack of all trades, but a master of none. Therefore it's good at a lot of things but great at none. With that said it's still one hell of a car for the money.

I'd say you're ideally situated to buy a used one since you've already owned one and know what to look for. The price seems fair too, I'd say jump on it if everything checks out.

Definitely not biased or anything...

Obligatory best color statement

You should definitely send me the GBS Fender Garnish/Vents so I can swap them with the nazi drift cars on the side of mine :thanks:

Buy it.

If you're not already doing this, finance it through a credit union rather than the dealer. You'll likely pay a lot less in interest. When I was shopping for financing for mine, I was pleasantly surprised at both the differences in interest rates and the ease of getting a loan at a credit union I didn't belong to.

Actually,I'm looking for a more aggressive looking WRX/STI,so hopefully I'll like it.The current ones look too pedestrian, unlike the concept that they showed earlier, which would've flown out of dealerships had they stayed with that design.http://images.thecarconnection.com/l...00423963_l.jpg

I'll take AWD turbo all day long over what I have now.

FX86 07-22-2016 12:33 PM

throw your money at it now

finch1750 07-22-2016 12:46 PM

Just make sure the car is good and dont just jump at it for a good price. But seems like a decent idea to me especially since you wont take a hit on letting the WRX go
