Best street tires?
 

Hi! My rear tires are basically spent, had Ecsta 4X Type IIs on. Was thinking about just direct replacing them with the same tires. However, I was thinking about asking the community to see which tires run best on the street as daily drivers. Won't be AutoX or Tracking anytime soon. Not until I finish my payments. What do you guys look for when you look for good street tires. Depending on the answer I might just end up switching all four tires. Also small question because I don't know anything.. but if I weren't look carefully I would say the front tires don't run treads as fast as the rear tires. I'm assuming this is because we drive RWD. In the case that I get good tires for the front also, what would be the point in spending so much on the front as compared to just keeping the tires the way they are...? Please tell me if I don't make sense :c

Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Your rear wore a little quicker is probably because you've done launches or burnouts, and of course its rear wheel drive. Your front tires is what controls your steering, you want them to be grippy so you don't understeer into a tree or wall. hope that explains it.

If you're wearing out rears much faster than fronts, rotate the tires to even out the wear...

MPSS are overkill for pure street tires, but are a good option if you like having sticky daily tires.

I daily drive mines, but I don't launch or do burnouts xD Maybe it was the previous owner of my car as I have only logged about 10k miles onto my wheels.

I like sticky tires. When I press my accelerator and I needa go fast really quickly, I want my tires to react too haha. So I might want to look into MPSS, what would you suggest if I wasn't getting MPSS. XD

Nitto Invos I use those as my touring tires and love them. Only a little more grip then OEM but better in every other tangible way (other then tread wear)

Because I don't push my car like crazy the most definitive tires that I am looking for are the ones that last the longest. You think the Nitto Invos will be good for me :D?

If you like tires are amazing in the rain, incredibly quite, very predictable, and a little more grip then stock they are for you. I think the tread wear was like 260 in 225/45R/17 (the smallest size they make so you would have to go with this size but they fit fine on OEM rims) so they are not awful. My other tires have a tread wear of 100 LMAO. And the price isn't too bad either

Edit: I should add they are classified as a luxury performance tire and I think that is the best way to sum them up.

If you want to save some money, go with Sumitomo HTR ZIII. I've been driving for more than 15k miles, 3 track days, but still have lots of tread left. If this will strictly be used on street, sumitomo will get the job done.

The MPSS has a very stiff sidewall, so the drop in ride comfort from OEM to MPSS was pretty significant. Since I don't autocross or track my car, I don't necessarily need all of the traction it provides. Next time I'll get the A/S3 instead. For mileage, the MPSS has a 30K mile warranty; the A/S3 has a 45K mile warranty.

Any of you guys have a stance or review on the Ecsta 4X Type IIs compared to any of the tires you guys mentioned above?

Nope only tires I have used on the FRS are OEM, Invos, Various winter tires, and race tires lol

The only summer tires I've had are stock, Dunlop ZII's, Hankook RS3's and Yokohama AD08R's. I've also got a set of Toyo R1R's in the basement, but haven't driven them yet.

Out of all of those, I wouldn't recommend any for pure street use. They're stiff, loud, and wear too fast unless you're autoxing or tracking the car.
