Windshield Replacement

Does the windshield have to be OEM when return the lease? I can get a very cheap windshield but it's not OEM, don't want to be shafted when it comes time to turn it in.

Good question but I don't think so

I have only been at a single lease return inspection. If it reflected a typical inspection then as long as you have a windshield at all you should be good... but YMMV.

If it were me I'd go non-oem in a heartbeat.

Maybe ask the company you leased the car from .....??

I'd guess they would say that it wouldn't matter.

Or once he ask, he's busted, and they make him pay oem price 😅 than you'll deal with toyobaru's parts department

I doubt the people doing the inspection would be able to tell the differencs. But you never know

Ashikabi 07-20-2016 09:18 AM

Probably won't be able to tell the difference

Burrcold 07-20-2016 09:23 AM

No it does not.

Read your lease agreement?

They'll only care about the windshield if it has damage.

FX86 07-20-2016 01:11 PM

what happened to your windshield?

I've had a few customers replace their windshield before returning the leased car and weren't smacked for it so you should be fine.
