If my car had an engine replacement: short block, am I still able to get a super char
Hello this may seem like a stupid question but I really dont know all that much about cars.
Before I bought the car I saw on the carfax that It had an engine replacement:short block by my local toyota dealer. I had a mechanic take apart the bottom pan and he showed me where the engine was sealed together from what they replaced. Does this seals make it weaker? Can my engine still handle a super charger? Am I still a candidate with that half of my engine being replaced? It was done probably about 10k miles ago and i have had 0 issues with the car at all so it seems okay to me :iono: |
Provided the short block replacement was done correctly (and it's very encouraging that this was done 10k miles ago and you currently have no issues with the car), yes the motor seems to be healthy enough to allow boost.

Agreed with sportsguy. Assuming the parts weren't trash off eBay, your engine is no different than any one else's.
