IGGEE seat cover Review (after 7500 miles and 11 months)
Alright, ill break this into a written review portion and the pictures and comments after the post. Lets get to basics, installed IGGEE covers after 1-2 month and 1500 miles with the car. Currently have it installed for 7500~ miles and 11 months. NOTE: front seats only
Bang for buck: 9.5/10 They are roughly 200 bucks, and I got them for 170 out of pocket after talking with them. After all the mileage and time and all types of passengers, they've held up very well and will most definitely get another set after these fail. So far I have yet to fully destroy them, so i can't say how long they last, but theyve last long enough to make it worth. ymmv? Installation: 6/10 The butt seat cover is installed by putting the cover over the seat and using hooks and straps to hook onto under the seat. They did not provide hooks and thus had to tie the straps to other things and each other to make it fit nicely. The backrest was easier to install, but still was a little difficult to velcro the side and make it flush. Also, the headrest holes are not cut out, so dont screw up. If you're a big(ger) person, it might be a little to get under and around the seat, but its not the end of the world installation. Process: 1hr per seat. Function: 9/10 I bought these seats because the FR-S didnt come with leather, and mesh+liquids=SOL, so I decided to get some leather covers. They protect my seats with liquids and foods, as they are (kinda) leather. I own a black FR-S with 30 tint, so the seats dont get too exceptionally hot. However, because it is leather, it might cook a little, although not the point of actual hot leather burns (like a bimmer). They do have a small layer of foam under the leather, so that is kind of cushion-y and not terrible. Cosmetics: 9.5/10 What drew me to these seats was the red, it stood out and looks very nice. Many compliments from first-timers thinking I got aftermarket seats. It is fairly wrinkle-less and seamless overall, although small spots can be noticed. Note that these arent full seat replacements, but covers, and with that there will be spots of imperfections, but im ok with that. Durability: 8/10 The construction is a thin layer of (probably fake) leather, followed by a mesh cotton weave, followed by a thin layer of foam padding. The leather isn't the most durable thing in the world, but over the miles ive only had one real spot of wear and tear, which is on the left lumbar support on the driver side. (presumably my elbow rubbing on it?) They do, however, seem to hold itself structurally in places thats not worn away. Still no fading on any of the colors. Concluding remarks: 9/10 I would buy again once these break, and perhaps think about adding the back seat covers too. IGGEE's customer service isn't spectacular, but once you're on the phone with them, they're very helpful. I didnt find a lot of reviews on these seat covers, so I guess i decided to give it a shot. PS first major post on this forum, go easy. :bonk: Sorry bad image. but this is stock to seat covers. I installed at night forgive the lighting. Shoutout to Diode for a decent bright light http://i.imgur.com/AwEHQi4.jpg Another angle http://i.imgur.com/ZeqZfXi.jpg Both sides installed. small creases here and there that ironed out after people sitting in it. http://i.imgur.com/P0WS6Qy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YQcO6ad.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0W6jWgS.jpg Here is a shot of it today (beginning of the post). Notice most the wrinkles are gone, except for this giant one on driver side between the lumbar that never seem to go away. Owells. Again, some fading on the lumbar supports on driver side. http://i.imgur.com/wTeNrRW.jpg Here is a close up of the fading leather. notice the mesh underneath. http://i.imgur.com/oi509pU.jpg Here's a bonus pic of color matched interior. xD http://i.imgur.com/YJq7Lpu.jpg Thanks for reading! gimme tips and advice please. 25,000 miles Update: So my passenger is still fairly intact but my driver bolster is just about fallen apart. For what they're worth, its fairly worth it. Might decide to go to SARD. |
Thanks for the writeup. However, I don't think I'd be happy with the bolster wearing like that, especially after only 11 months. Have you contacted them about it?
|
My bolster wore out after about a year. I still have the head rests and rear installed. I still have them, I have toyed around with the idea of pulling them apart and redoing them with some other materials.
TBH I kinda like the look of the red headrests with the otherwise stock seats |

I've had mine a few months and it is starting to wear in the same spot. I think it is from me getting in and out of the car.

I don't think leather wears out like that. I suspect they are "pleather"

Thanks for review. Decided to order mine. Will make a short review as well.
