1195 for brembo brakes and different wheels seems a little low.

Agreed but happy they have continued to keep it reasonable and affordable

DatsunDimer 07-14-2016 04:53 PM

I personally think that price is great and should entice lots of buyers

DAEMANO 07-14-2016 04:54 PM

Great prices! $25.5k base + $1.2k performance pack and you're good for $26.9k MSRP. Obviously there's destination and tax, but damn, for all the fun stuff here this is an outright bargain.

Ya, the price of the PP seems like a no brainer. I expect a lot of people will be getting the PP.

It's as if they are offering it at cost or something?

Stang70Fastback 07-14-2016 04:58 PM

This has me hoping for good things regarding the cost of the OEM Brembo kit as its own entity. I'm sure it'll be more expensive but it would be nice if it wasn't EXORBITANTLY expensive.

You can only get the PP on the limited for some silly reason.

Starting to wonder if that wasn't by request/demand from Toyota. Hard to sell the monospec 86 if Subaru allowed the PP on the Premium. Just a tiny conspiracy theory.

I would believe it.

Yes and probably a request by SOA to sell Premium and Limited and not the base model since they don't have the dealer network or presence like Toyota.

Why even call it a package when it's really a trim level (and advertised as such in Japan I think).

ScoobsMcGee 07-14-2016 05:29 PM

The performance pack is about $800 less than I was expecting. Not bad at all.

Most likely it's to increase ASP of car, as well as package performance items for cost w/ higher value car to make back money.

Makes sense, the PP is priced almost at their cost. $1195 is the cost of a brand new front big brake kit...

DuMa 07-14-2016 05:36 PM

can i get the Performance Pack on my 2014?

Damn shame really. Don't need leather seats, dual climate, prox key/start, or a spoiler that will need to be removed if I want to go fast. Oh well. Let's see how much the brakes cost as parts after they hit the catalog.

Maybe once they are for sale as replacement parts and assuming the brake bias is the same. I'm guessing it will be a lot more than $1200 for both the front and the rear though. You would also need wheels that clear them.

xrs 07-14-2016 06:34 PM

The lack of updates from Toyota on the 86 is frigging annoying. Another conspiracy theory, they're holding off on releasing any info in order to get rid of as many remaining FRSs they can.

Speed2th 07-14-2016 06:51 PM

oh wow i am impressed. so much upgrade and no price hike. $1200 performance package, that is insanely good deal.

UchihaFanBoy 07-14-2016 08:06 PM

Will be getting that yellow brz when I'm able to preorder it ;)

Yeah its sort of maddening, car comes out this fall and they have no information via Toyota.com or really any press releases minus when they announced the car at the auto show.

DayV 07-14-2016 09:03 PM

Someone find out if we can order the PP for previous years!!

DoomsdayJesus 07-14-2016 09:28 PM

Damn, that is a laundry list of really nice additions and fixes. Wish they happened sooner, but proves they're listening.

The nice thing is that the creature comforts, bells, and whistles should drive more sales by casual buyers and hopefully keep sales up.

krayzie 07-14-2016 10:10 PM

You can't order the PP for our old cars, otherwise that sales literature explaining all the beefed up chassis enhancements would be double talk bs.

But I'm sure you can just order the brakes and suspension at the parts counter.

Sport-Tech 07-15-2016 04:18 AM

PP not till early 2017. Why do they delay the release of the good stuff? Seems to be SOP with car manufacturers a lot of the time. Fiat's doing the same with the new 124 - no Abarth version for the first several months.

DatsunDimer 07-15-2016 08:10 AM

Keep hearing the "early" being in March. Have to think of the PP cars really as 2017.5 models. Hopefully as we get closer to release, that date moves up. I know the WRX lineup received early delivery dates by nearly a month, so maybe there is hope.

Elleteeh 07-15-2016 08:17 AM

So does this price release announcement count as official pricing for dealers to submit orders now? Or will we still have to wait for the website to update first?

As of today orders can be submitted to dealers except for the series yellow

Mr.Impreza 07-15-2016 11:17 AM

Wow..this is expensive. I mean the Premium is fine. The Limited is getting up there, but the yellow edition....in CDN that's around $38,300!!!

Thankfully it isn't likely that we will pay CAD to USD rate for it because the Japanese Yen is pretty weak right now, even compared to CAD and that is what we will be converted against. Top trim 6MT (Limited with PP) is listed at 3315600 JPY, converted to CAD that is $27630 with taxes and shipping on top of that.

Deadrik 07-15-2016 01:02 PM

Man, the AT and Yellow prices are so similar, I'm tempted to just suck it up and go Yellow.

For now, gonna let it sit in my mind and see what the 86 is gonna sport.

benrz 07-15-2016 01:04 PM

Is the 1200 for both the wheels AND brakes? I would honestly only be interested in the brakes :)

kch 07-15-2016 01:04 PM

For those wanting to get the PP on older models--you know the cost for all the parts brand new will be more than $1200, right? The $1200 price is how much more it costs over stock suspension. I wouldn't be surprised if the parts are $3k all together brand new from the dealership, if not more. You can't get a full set of wheels, brembos, and Sachs dampers for $1200.

Edit: and with so many good solutions already available, you're probably better off going aftermarket anyways.

Yellow is the fastest. Red is second.
