Door won't stay open?

This isn't a huge problem or whatever just a minor annoyance.. But does anyone else on here have the problem of the doors closing to easily? Kinda hard to know what I'm talking about if it doesn't happen to you. But if you do have the problem then you'll know what I'm talking about.. Even on a flat surface i will open my car door and it won't stay open. I can literally open my door, get out, and the door will close shut without me even touching it.

Yeah...I have a 2016 with the problem but only on a slight incline. It's still a pain when the door keeps whacking you in the ass. I think it's the door check made of plastic still looking for a fix. My first service is coming soon so I'll have them check it out.

You might check and make sure that hinge looking thing that connects the door with the door frame is bolted down tight. Compare with the other side ...... any difference .. ??

@PresiO. Definitely had this issue. If you want your doors to stay open, then park backwards into the incline. Otherwise, you gotta do the little jig and dance hopping out of the car before the door shuts on you.

I've been waiting for an aftermarket door check or damper to come out to fix the issue. It really hurts if the door slams down hard enough on your shin.

Happens all the time to me. I just make sure I hold it open, and yes, it's a bit inconvenient. I wish the detent had a bit more friction.

@Ultramaroon I was thinking maybe some rubberized piece that held to the bottom of the door and wedged to the ground.

I had to load a commercial steam cleaner in through the passenger side a couple weeks ago. It was impossible facing uphill, I had to turn the car around to face downhill so I could load it in.

I was just being silly but the struggle is real. Between the doors and the passenger seat release, I worry about my fingers. 0.o

get used to sticking your butt out if you want your door to stay open.

mine is the same if I park on my driveway since it has a slight incline.

All of my cars have that problem. This one is no different. It was great when I got it, then it just worn out. I'm sure you can buy that part and install it. But it's not much of an issue.

Well I mean, some cars have a door strut:

You would think by now that modern cars would have nice doors that don't slam shut on you but nooo, they're heavier and more unweildy than ever before. We've got windows that automatically roll, but we can't keep the doors from shutting on our legs.

You guys, if you have the stock head unit, go to set up, system settings, vehicle settings, and disable the self closing feature.

lol, jk. Mine does the same unless the ground is completely level.
